 About Tau Nu

The Tenacious Tau Nu Chapter was charter on April 30, 2017 on the campus of the University of La Verne. Located in La Verne, California, Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. is the the first African American Sorority to establish a chapter on campus.

The charter members  Keyera Collins and Kyerra Green, were inspired to establish a chapter following the university’s re-commitment to diversity in 2014. Committed to community service Tau Nu hosts many fundraisers and philanthropic events throughout the school year.

Membership Info

New members of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. are accepted on both the undergraduate and graduate levels. A woman is eligible for membership in an undergraduate chapter only while attending a four-year accredited college or university, or in a liberal arts/transfer program of a junior or community college, once they submit proof of intention to enter and obtain a degree from a four-year school.

Candidates may be accepted for undergraduate membership after successfully completing one quarter, semester, or trimester. The cumulative grade point average required for membership is 2.5 (on a 4.0 scale).
